Supported Employment
We offer both Individual and Group Placement options in our Supported Employment program. Our Job Developers will work closely with you to find a job. Sometimes your first job will not be the job you keep for a long time; as your job skills and work experience grow, our Job Developers will help you move on to a better job. Our Job Coaches provide support, training, and guidance for job success and career growth.

Direct Placement
Our Direct Placement Program provides just the right amount of assistance to help you find a job. Our Job developers will work closely with you in the job search process. Once you start a job, our Job Coaches will provide on-site support to you for the first 90 days on the job as you master your job duties and build workplace relationships. You can always call us if you need more help after your first 90 days of employment and we’ll work with your Department of Rehabilitation Counselor to negotiate more job coaching for you.

Customized Employment
This very personalized approach in employment services capitalizes on your strengths, needs, and interests. Our Customized Employment service will negotiate with potential employers to customize a job for you based on your abilities and which takes into consideration your need for accommodations. If owning your own business is your goal, we can help you with developing a business plan, legal requirements, business start-up, and provide on-going support to help your business succeed. This creative blend of services includes: Supported Employment, Self-Employment, Entrepreneurship, Job Carving and Restructuring.

Employment Planning
Prior to job seeking, we also offer Employment Planning services designed to help you select an employment/career path. We offer Job Exploration & Situational Assessment to help you determine your job interests and identify any barriers to employment. We will work closely with you to remove barriers so you will be ready to begin looking for a job.

Ticket To Work
Elwyn California is a designated Employment Network and part of the Social Security Administration’s Ticket to Work Program. As a beneficiary you may assign your Ticket to Elwyn California & we will assist you with your employment goals.

Orange County Adult Day Program
Elwyn California’s Adult Day Program is based in our Fountain Valley location. Consumers participate in a variety of meaningful site-based activities including: adult education classes, arts & crafts projects, and paid work. On average, the consumers in this program spend at least 51% of their program time engaged in meaningful community-based activities including: volunteer work at the Fountain Valley Library or Orange Senior Care; organizing food drives and delivering food to local food banks or homeless shelters; attending cultural events and planning and participating in recreational activities. South Bay Clubhouse
The South Bay Clubhouse Program, located in Torrance, California, is our other Adult Day Program. Consumers in this program are called members. SBCH members select and plan the activities offered during the program day; and work closely with program staff to carry them out. Some activities are site-based including: computer, music, and art classes; and working in the kitchen unit. On average members spend at least 51% of their program time in the community. Work Activity Center
Elwyn California’s Work Activity Center offers paid training for program participants. A variety of paid training opportunities are provided to program participants via contracts with local businesses. Training opportunities include: assembly; hand and machine packaging; software destruction and recycling; filling event bags, and other types of labor intensive activities. Participants receive a piece-rate which is based on commensurate wage for each unit completed. Other services in this program include: adult education classes; behavior development services; assessment and referral to supported employment; counseling; and personalized planning services.
