Purpose Goals and Activities

PURPOSE: Assist Elwyn staff to develop employment opportunities and work sites for Elwyn employees in southern California (five counties)

GOALS: Each member serves as a reference and provides one employer contact (referral) per month.

Maintain a pulse on relevant, local and state business trends, especially economic and labor.

Provide feedback on “best practices” in regards to business services, such as marketing/sales, promotional materials, customer service, etc.

Provide expertise in all phases of employment whenever possible.

POTENTIAL ACTIVITIES

The following are possible activities that Council members may be asked to participate in or to lead:

  • Enhance general networking.

  • Generate publicity and positive public relations. Be open to contacts as a reference for inquiring customers.

  • Assist staff to sharpen marketing skills and strategies.

  • Assist in developing promotional materials as necessary.

  • Assist with the job development process when beneficial (i.e your area of expertise, your business contact etc.

  • Participate in California Elwyn special events if and when possible.
